Strategy & Design Approach
After conducting an content audits and client interviews to clarify priorities and user needs, then I developed a visual direction emphasizing clarity, a modern layout, and a regional tone reinforcing Middlesex’s brand identity. The site architecture prioritized quick access to key resources, including sector data, contact details, business park listings, real estate availability, and demographic insights. Key features included hero videos and photography showcasing local industries and landmarks, clean typography and a professional color palette, responsive layouts optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile, downloadable resources, event listings, location highlights, and third-party integrations for mapping and data. The design was fully accessibility compliant, ensuring usability for diverse audiences.

Outcome and Impact
The new website increased investor and business engagement, with higher traffic to priority pages and more inquiries post-launch. Complex regional and economic data was simplified into clear visual formats, improving usability and accessibility (AODA). Updated site structure, refined content hierarchy, and SEO-friendly templates enhanced discoverability. The flexible, responsive design system enabled the internal team to manage updates independently, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Website won the 2016 EDCO Award for Best Economic Development Website, boosting the county’s credibility.
