The Challenge
Dandelion Kids is a boutique children’s store offering a thoughtfully selection of clothing, toys, and gifts. I was brought on to design print materials that would support in-store promotions and help drive customer engagement. The project began with a branded gift card and later expanded when the client requested an additional promotional piece.

Strategy & Approach
In early conversations, the client shared their interest in creating promotions that felt consistent with their store experience while also encouraging repeat business. After the launch of the gift cards, which was well received by customers, the client asked for a follow-up piece that could further support customer retention and sales.

Design Direction
The discount cards were designed to clearly communicate the tiered incentive: the more a customer spent, the more they would save on their next purchase.
The layout focused on simplicity and clarity to ensure the promotion was immediately understandable at checkout.
The size of the cards were design to fit in your wallet, same size as a debt card. This way they would have it ready to use next time they were in the store.
They were designed to using the brand colours and reflect the store’s friendly and boutique character.
They can be used effectively across daily transactions and seasonal promotions.
Outcome and Impact
The discount cards became a regular part of in-store promotions and were effective in encouraging return visits and increasing average transaction value.
Staff found them easy to explain and distribute, and customers appreciated the immediate reward structure.
The discount cards played a key role in building stronger customer relationships and supporting the store’s ongoing loyalty efforts.
The final print pieces were used successfully in-store as part of the shop’s promotional strategy.
